Italy vs Switzerland - Milan vs Zürich: A Short Clip

Vibrant, handmade, boutique, small, unique, everyone.

Having just come back from visiting my friend in Milan and Tuscany, the above words are what have stuck with me the most regarding the fashion scene.

Starting off with 'vibrant': I think the main reason this stuck out to me because when I compare Milan to Zurich, the most obvious factor is the general views of both cities. Zurich being beautifully clean, emulating its flag of blue and white. However, following my trip to Italy, I noticed that it almost felt sterile. The buildings sharp, well kept and well built, but also a tad bit of grey here and a tad bit of beige there. The city almost felt muted (don't worry I still love it). Milan on the other hand, had that slight edge to it, the cigarettes on the floor, the worn out, yet, grand wooden 9 ft tall door. The buildings red, yellow, and yes, beige too. A beautiful analogy I can think of is Zurich is Zopf. Simple, yet, delicate. Hard to get right, hard to perfect. Perfect with some soft butter, but maybe not quite right for marmite, not quite right when toasted, it's best when fresh, white and simple. Milan is a 7 sprouted grain type of bread. Best with that golden brown crunch, schmearwd with some lovely berry jam and maybe even some cream cheese too.
